Phrase Play #11

I have loved all the Phase Plays but this does have more possibilities I can see. I love piecing them and giving it a contemporary feel.  I know I'll use this Phase Play a lot.

Hello There

Hello There by PTI has so many options but I love the cupcakes. I brought out my COPICS for this card and colored the three cupcakes. I die cut the cherries and after coloring them added Glossy Accents. It's all mounted on patterned Soft Stone paper and then on plain Soft Stone.

December Blog Hop. Using Gold and Silver

I used the PTI Phrase Play #11 and the Small Sketched Stars. The background is gold paper which I embossed with an embossing folder of stars from my stash. I made stripes of different metal glitter colors for the background behind the die cut. I heat embossed the saying from Phrase Play #11 in silver and placed it on top of the die cute instead of where it was meant to me. I added the stars cut from silver paper. I did place a piece of clear card stock behind the hooray die cut so  it's protected.

Camouflaging Die Cuts

This is one of my favorite things to do is create a background and then use a die cut word. This word Thanks is from Paper Smooches I think ( I had it in my cutout word stash) The stamp and dies are from PTI Painted Poinsettias and I used one of those flowers to stamp the background with Soft Stone on Soft Stone.

MERRY KISS-MAS

I'm in love with the Merry Kiss-mas from PTI. I used Simply Chartreuse cardstock for the card and then used Soft Stone for the card on top. Soft Stone ink was used to stamp the mistletoe background.
I die cut the mistletoe out of Simply Chartreuse  and sponged the edges with Ripe Avocado. The bow was cut from Pure Poppy and then clear embossed. I die cut the Merry from the Wonderful Words Holiday and stacked three of them and then inserted them back into the original cut. I stamped the Christmas from Christmas Labels. I used tiny pearls for the  berries.

I'm playing along with PTI's Make It Monday:

Emboss Resist Using Die Cuts

I used the Vertical Chevron plate to create my background. I then embossed it with white embossing powder and rubbed the following colors from top to bottom: Hibiscus Burst, Berry Sorbet, Raspberry Fizz and Pure Poppy.
I die cut out the Hello (from Wonderful Words Hello) in the card base then stacked four more beneath it (it's hard to see the hello but it is raised. Then I used the Initial Thoughts die and button stacks for the embellishments. I think I'll try a blue one next. Fun times.

Virginia's View Challenge was to do some Paper Piecing.

Paper Piecing is one of my favorite card making projects because the finished project is always so interesting and appreciated. I used Papertrey Ink's Doodlie Do stamp set and fussy cut all the petals. I cannot remember where I got the paper but usually choose a 6X6 pad and use various papers so they will coordinate.

Make It Monday: Creative Card Borders using Non-Border Dies:

What a fun project...now I'll look at my dies from a different angle. I used the Friendly Flower stamp and dies and stamped them with Hibiscus Burst and Pure Poppy and the leaves with Simply Chartruese and Ripe Avacado..
I also die cut the Wet Paint Thanks and colored it with Hibiscus Burst then inlaid it back into the card.
I tried Danielle's trick of using seam binding and wetting it and it worked great. The inside of the Pure Poppy card is a piece of paper from Shakers and Sprinkles as the color was perfect.

What a darling idea for a little gift for any occasion. I used  PTI Berry Sorbet, Hibiscus Burst and Sweet Blush. I also used PTI's Take Note stamp set.  For the buttons I used the Button Stack combination and clear heat embossed them to make them shiny. The inside notes all say "Notes" on the bottom. Really enjoyed this project.

PTI Make it Monday: Heat Embossing Tips for Die Cuts and Two Step Stamps.

Today's challenge was really different for me but very fun too. I used PTI's Rosie Posie two step stamps along with Boutique Borders Love. I went right along with Erin and backed into the process of stamping first and cutting from a pattern made by the die. Using Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy for the flowers and Simply Chartruese  and Ripe Avacado for the leaves. It's all mounted on Berry Sorbet pin dot. The Love You is from Boutique Borders Love as well.

PTI March High Gloss Blog Hop

Here is another example of High Gloss using clear embossing powder. Stamps used were the Fabulous Frames, The Truck is from Tremendous Treats  and the tag from Bountiful Banners.
Enchanted Evening is the paper. It's a cute card for a male I think.

PTI  High Gloss March Blog Hop

This Months blog hop from PTI challenged us to use high gloss on our projects. For stamps I used the Leave it Be, and Happiness in Bloom stamp and die sets. Also the Hello is from Wonderful Words. I did a little stamping on the white cardstock with the leaves and then die cut the word out on top of it. I treated each flower and leaf with clear embossing powder for the glossy look.
Papers used were Tropical Teal, Spring Rain, Enchanted Evening, and New Leaf for some of the leaves. I love using clear embossing powder as it enhances the colors and give it such a fun shine.

Spring colors make this card so Springy. I used the Beautiful Blooms dies with  Happiness in Blooms centers. I also used the Leave It for the various leaves. The cardstock is Summer Sunrise, Raspberry Fizz, Simply Chartreuse and  Ripe Avocado. Bo Bunny dot is used for the accents Bring on Spring.

PTI Challenge: Spring Card

Doodlie-Do wins again for the stamp design I chose. I used Copics in Spring
Colors and added my own Zen tangles to fill in the spaces in between
If you don't know what Zen tangles is- it's controlled doodling. It's all over Pinterest and
is very therapeutic they say. It's my first attempt and I found it very time consuming but fun.
I adhered the twine on the back of the button with glue dots and used Liquid Pearls in the
centers of the other flowers.

Spring Fling - I'm ready.

Here are a couple of "Springy" cards:
Forget Me Not from My Favorite Things gives you three flowers from which to choose. The cute buttons are from Lasting Impressions and the only ones I know of that are that small. There is also one a little smaller than that for baby embellishments. Too cute.

I used Graphic 45 Secret Garden paper and die cut several petals from PTI's Lovely Layers. I love that soft palette of this paper. The Tag behind the flower is from PTI Tag Sale #4.

Another PTI Challenge:
This time I used the other Friends Frame and made a shaker box with flowers from the Best is Yet to Be.

Day 6 PTI Challenge:
Using a word as a focal point. Back to the Doodlie-Do stamp (my favorite) and Friends from the Wonderful Words Friend die. The sentiment is from the same set. I did put a clear cardstock behind my window and raised the front panel with foam dots.

7 Minute Challenge

This was PTI's 7 minute challenge. I used scraps, one rick rack die, 3 buttons and
one of the free printables I had already cut out. I almost didn't make it but fortunately I had some circles already cut. Whew!

Drop Shadow Die Cuts

I love this Shadow Die Cut MIM by Betsy Veldman, she  never ceases to amaze.
I used the Hearts Cover Plate to impress my background. The flowers are from
Happiness in Bloom as well as the leaves. Friends is from Wonderful Words Friends
as is the Forever on the Bountiful Banners. It was a fun card to make and I will use
this idea many times in the future.

PTI Pink Challenge

Papertrey's January Challenge was to make a card using "Pink" with some neutrals.
I selected papers from a 6X6 pad by My Minds Eye called Lost and Found.  The stamp is a flower
pieced from the Doodlie Do stamps set. The sentiment is from Stylish Sentiments Birthday.
I added a row of hearts in brown only showing the tiny scallops. I really love this stamp set.

Day 1 of Stenciled Class

I learned a lot on the first day. Number one, tape your stencil down a lot or it shifts. I used Simon Says diagonal stencil and believe it or not I used two different color inks going each way. PTI
Strawberry Fizz and Berry Sorbet. The flower is the new stamp set from PTI called Doodlie Do.
The banner is from My Favorite Things called Banner Greetings. All placed on Strawberry Fizz paper. It was a lot of fun and I will try another one tomorrow.

Doodlie Do

I'm loving this new Doodlie-Do Stamp set from PTI. There are so many flowers in the set which makes so many options available. I love the fact that you can use Copics or paper piecing or watercolors. This is a great stamp set if you like flowers. The Sentiment is from Healing Touch by PTI also.

Make it Monday Glitter Embellishments

I Love, love, love, glitter. Todays Papertrey Inks Make it Monday was no challenge as I love
to put glitter on everything. I used the Heart Cover Plate for the hearts as well as the placement.
I did stamp each heart but the glitter kind of covered up the design. I liked it anyway. The double ended border was used for the sentiment from the same Happy Hearts stamp set with my own black stitching around the edge. I think this will be an Anniversary Card.

Some Valentines for this year. All made with PTI stamps.
Make It Monday.
Year of the Flower Violets using Royal Velvet, Plum Pudding and Winter Wisteria Inks for the flowers. For the leaves I used Limeade Ice and  Simply Chartreuse. The sentiment is from the Year of the Flower also.
